The top of the Reports/Calculate screen contains the following, which you use to calculate the costs, and display, print and download reports:

Report Type Field, Download Format Field, Download, Print and calculate Buttons

Calculating Costs

To calculate the costs for an estimate:

  1. Click the Calculate button.

  2. Click Continue in the window that displays indicating how much you will be charged for the calculation.

  3. Commercial Estimator calculates the costs and displays the Detailed Report.

Displaying a Report

To display a report:

  1. Use the Report Type drop-down list to select the report to display (Data Entry, Summary or Detailed).

  2. Commercial Estimator automatically displays the selected type in the lower portion of the Reports/Calculate screen.

Printing a Report

To print a report:

  1. Use the Report Type drop-down list to select the report to print (Data Entry, Summary or Detailed).

  2. Click the Print button.

  3. When the Print window displays, select the appropriate printer, then click the Print button.

Note:  You should always use the Print button to print report, rather than using the print button or menu option in your browser.  When you use this button, Commercial Estimator formats the report specifically for you printer.  If you use the print button or menu option in your browser, the entire report screen prints (including the logos at the top of the screen and the menus on the left of the screen).

Downloading a Report to Your Computer

Use the following steps to download a report to a file on your hard disk:

  1. Use the Download Format drop-down list to select the format of the downloaded file from the following choices:

  2. HTML:  HTML file

  3. Word (RTF):  Rich text format file that you can use with Microsoft Word or with other word processing programs.

  1. Click the Download button.

  2. If the File Download window displays with a warning message and the question "Would you like to open this file or save it to your computer?", click the Save button.  

  3. When the Save As window displays:

  1. When the Download Complete window displays, click the Close button.
