Commercial Estimator has two methods of moving from one screen to another (so-called navigation):
Sequential Navigation Buttons, which lead you from one screen to another in a logical order.
Random Navigation Links, which allows you to move randomly from one screen to the next.
Note: You should always use the Commercial Estimator navigation buttons and/or links to move from screen to screen. When you use these, Commercial Estimator automatically sends the data you have entered on the current screen to the Marshall & Swift computer.
You should not use your browser's navigation buttons (Back, Forward, Home, etc.). If you use the browser's buttons, the data you have entered on the current screen will not be sent to the Marshall & Swift computer.
The Sequential Navigation Buttons at the bottom of the data screens lead you from one screen to another in a logical order. The names on these buttons are as follows:
Guided Entry Screens: These buttons are labeled as follows:
Next >: Move to the next Guided Entry screen
< Previous: Move to the previous Guided Entry screen.
Finish: Complete Guided Entry and go to the Detailed Data Entry screens, moving the data you entered on the Guided Entry screens to these Detailed Data Entry screens.
Cancel: Cancel Guided Entry, returning to the New Estimate/Search screen.
Example: The following buttons are on the Exterior Wall screen:
Detailed Estimate Data Screens: These buttons are labeled with the names of the previous and next screen in the logical order.
Example: On the Occupancies screen, the following sequential navigation buttons move to the previous screen (Building Data) and next screen (Components):
The Random Navigation Links appear on the left side of the screen when you are entering or editing an estimate:
