429 Modified Hog Shed

This shed has a modified open front (i.e., hinged for ventilation) and is used for the farrowing, raising and fattening of swine. Walls are insulated using block, concrete, wood siding, stucco or metal siding as the exterior cover. The back wall may be hinged for ventilation. There usually is some electrical and water to the pens. Most have some type of flushing system.
