CAB Concrete, Bearing Wall

A concrete foundation for a building which has bearing walls supporting the upper floor(s) and roof structure.

Included in Cost

Excavation, trenching, forming, reinforcing, concrete and backfill required for both perimeter and interior footings and foundation.

For Class D buildings, use one of the following components:

CAE (Concrete, Siding or Stucco Bearing Walls)

CAF (Concrete, Masonry Veneer Bearing Walls)

Quality Selection

Consider the following when selecting a quality:

Load supported: The greater the load, the higher the quality.

Size and shape: The higher the ratio of the perimeter to floor area, the higher the quality.

Load-bearing capacity of the soil: The lower the capacity, the higher the quality.

Topography: Stepped foundations require a higher quality.

Climate: The deeper the frost line, the higher the quality.
