613 Hot and Chilled Water

Hot and chilled water that is generated in a boiler, chiller and cooling tower (usually a central room), and piped to various sections of a building. From these various points, fin coils or convectors with fans are used to produce warmed or cooled air, which is then circulated throughout that section (referred to as a zone). This system is normally found in Class A and B high-rise buildings where system piping must penetrate the fire barriers between floors.
